Investigating Streamless Sets
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper we look at streamless sets, recently investigated by Coquand and Spiwack [4]. A set is streamless if every stream over that set contain a duplicate. It is an open question in constructive mathematics whether the Cartesian product of two streamless sets is streamless. We look at some settings in which the Cartesian product of two streamless sets is indeed streamless; in particular, we show that this holds in Martin-Löf intentional type theory when at least one of the sets have decidable equality. We go on to show that the addition of functional extensionality give streamless sets decidable equality, and then investigate these results in a few other constructive systems. 1998 ACM Subject Classification F.4.1 Mathematical Logic

Investigating the missing data effect on credit scoring rule based models: The case of an Iranian bank
Credit risk management is a process in which banks estimate probability of default (PD) for each loan applicant. Data sets of previous loan applicants are built by gathering their data, and these internal data sets are usually completed using external credit bureau’s data and finally used for estimating PD in banks. There is also a continuous interest for bank to use rule based classifiers to b...
متن کاملInvestigating NLG Architectures: taking style into consideration
In this paper we propose a methodology for investigating the relationship between architectures of natural language generation (NLG) systems and stylistic properties of texts. Biber's (1988) methodology is used to obtain both the characterisation of style of our corpus and the division of the corpus into sets of linguistically similar texts. These sets will be used for studying the architectura...
متن کاملEvent-driven and Attribute-driven Robustness
Over five decades have passed since the first wave of robust optimization studies conducted by Soyster and Falk. It is outstanding that real-life applications of robust optimization are still swept aside; there is much more potential for investigating the exact nature of uncertainties to obtain intelligent robust models. For this purpose, in this study, we investigate a more refined description...
متن کاملMultidimensional Decoding Networks for Trapping Set Analysis
We present a novel multidimensional network model as a means to analyze decoder failure and characterize trapping sets of graphbased codes. We identify a special class of these decoding networks, which we call transitive networks, and show how they may be used to identify trapping sets and inducing sets. Many codes have transitive decoding network representations. We conclude by investigating t...
متن کاملInvestigating the Asymmetry in Volatility for the Iranian Stock Market
This paper investigates the asymmetry in volatility of returns for the Iranian stock market using the daily closing values of the Tehran exchange price index (TEPIX) covering the period from March 25, 2001 to July 25, 2012, with a total of 2743 observations. To this end, two sets of tests have been employed: the first set is based on the residuals derived from a symmetric GARCH (1,1) model. The...
